Many students spend summer at preseason practices, planning first day outfits, or savoring the last gasp of summer freedom. But kids still need to read! Here’s how to make it happen. Teachers often share optional summer reading lists. Our library has a great schedule when it is open this summer! The Lockport white Oak Library and the Homer Library both have great summer reading programs. But the best way to get kids to read is to be the example. Talk to your child about a book you read recently that you loved,. Tell them all the funny juicy mysterious parts. Read with your child. Listen to them read. There are many book shares all over lockport. In the shops by whizzy puffs there is a free book share! drop a book off and donate a book, then take a new one for home.
